India plays a pivotal role in Lenovo’s global AI strategy, both as a high-potential market and a centre for R&D, says SK Venkataraghavan, Director, Solutions & Services Group, Lenovo India. Lenovo has a state-of-the-art R&D lab for infrastructure solutions which will lead the development, testing and designing of mainstream servers. As AI adoption deepens in the education, public sector and SME ecosystems, the country is expected to become one of the key growth drivers for AI PC volume in Lenovo’s global markets, he said. “We are seeing strong momentum in the Indian market with the adoption of AI PCs, reflecting growing confidence across sectors,” he adds.
How is Lenovo positioning its AI portfolio in the rapidly evolving market?
Lenovo stands apart in the AI market by offering a full stack portfolio—pocket to the cloud—which includes devices, infrastructure and services. Our AI PCs, including the recently launched Aura edition of the ThinkPad and Yoga series, combine CPUs, GPUs and NPUs to enable powerful on-device inferencing and real-time generative AI capabilities. We also launched Lenovo AI Now, a personal AI agent that delivers hyper-personalised, secure experiences without relying on the cloud.
For enterprises, our TruScale GPU-as-a-Service provides scalable, cost-efficient access to high-performance computing. Lenovo is building smarter AI for all—secure, scalable and ready for real-world impact.
How is Lenovo customising its AI-powered Think portfolio for sectors like banking, manufacturing and agriculture?
Lenovo is customising its AI-powered Think portfolio to meet the real-world needs of Indian businesses across various sectors through targeted solutions, device versatility and regional initiatives. For the banking sector, ThinkPad and ThinkCentre devices offer AI-enhanced security, real-time diagnostics to support agile development, remote management and hybrid workflows.
Lenovo is making AI-powered innovation for manufacturers a reality by offering its full stack of AI-ready and AI-optimised infrastructure, solutions and services.
In Kanthaloor, Lenovo through its ‘Work for Humankind’ initiative leveraged technology to improve farming practices, enhance local knowledge and promote sustainable agriculture. This model showcases how Lenovo’s offerings can be adapted to non-traditional industries for meaningful outcomes.
What measures is Lenovo taking to ensure SMEs in India, especially in places like Kerala, can afford and effectively adopt your full-stack AI portfolio?
Lenovo is committed to enabling AI adoption for all, including SMEs in India, across markets, through a multi-pronged strategy. Our customisation options allow businesses to tailor devices to their specific performance and budget needs, ensuring flexibility without compromising on capability.
Through Lenovo TruScale and Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) offerings, SMEs can access cutting-edge infrastructure, software and support on a subscription basis—minimising upfront investment and enabling predictable cost management.
We have deep presence in Kerala with robust after-sales services and partnerships that extends our deep reach in the State. Together, these efforts ensure that SMEs can effectively leverage Lenovo’s full-stack Hybrid AI portfolio—across devices, infrastructure and services—to drive growth and innovation, even in highly cost-sensitive environments.
How is Lenovo addressing the skills gap in AI adoption?
Through our AI Innovators Programme, we collaborate with businesses to deliver ready-to-deploy AI solutions and provide tailored support, training and use-case guidance—empowering workforces to leverage AI effectively and accelerate digital transformation.
How is Lenovo addressing data privacy and security concerns in its AI solutions, especially for businesses in regulated industries?
Security is foundational to Lenovo’s AI strategy. ThinkShield, Lenovo’s end-to-end security suite, offers protection across hardware and software layers. It includes AI-powered anomaly detection, endpoint security and encryption tools.
On select ThinkPad models, on-device AI processing ensures sensitive data remain local and compliant with data residency requirements. Lenovo has also partnered with SentinelOne and Absolute to further strengthen endpoint protection. These integrations provide real-time threat detection, automated response capabilities and device-level resilience—allowing businesses to monitor, manage and secure devices in remote or high-risk environments.
These features help regulated enterprises maintain security and compliance while adopting advanced AI technologies.
: With outdated digital tools hindering AI adoption, what support is Lenovo offering to help Indian businesses modernise their IT infrastructure?
Lenovo is helping businesses transition from legacy systems to AI-ready environments through a comprehensive stack of services spanning devices, infrastructure and IT support. Attached Services—such as Premier Support and Device Intelligence—ensure reliable day-to-day performance and proactive issue resolution for AI PCs. Advanced service tiers like Premier Support Plus combine 24×7 direct access to expert technicians with accidental damage protection and predictive analytics for uptime optimisation.
