Jason Alexander is best known for playing George Costanza on the hit sitcom Seinfeld, but his proudest achievement is being the father of his two kids, sons Gabe and Noah.

Alexander (whose real name is Jay Scott Greenspan) married his wife, Daena Title, in May 1982, and nearly a decade later, they started a family through in vitro fertilization (IVF). The couple welcomed their son Gabe in May 1992, followed by Noah in February 1996.

Though Alexander admitted he “was not a kid person” before becoming a dad, he fully embraced fatherhood. “It’s the best! Unimaginable,” he told Live Talks Los Angeles in February 2012. “These boys came along and … your heart goes wow! I had no idea, it’s getting so big! It’s been the most amazing ride.”

The actor rose to fame as Seinfeld took off while his sons were young, and although he appreciated the recognition, he was also careful to keep them out of the limelight as much as possible. “We didn’t want the kids to be forced into that exposure,” Alexander said on the First Class Fatherhood podcast in June 2021.

Despite solidifying himself in the acting world, getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame isn’t at the top of his list. When Gabe and Noah asked if Alexander wanted one, he told them he would prefer his legacy live on through them.

He wants his boys to remember him as “someone who adored them, who supported them, who believed in them [and] who would always try to be there for them,” the actor shared on First Class Fatherhood. They also have their own legacy with him, as “good, kind, loving men” who live their lives with honesty and integrity.

Here’s everything to know about Jason Alexander’s kids, Gabe and Noah.

Speaking on the First Class Fatherhood podcast, the Pretty Woman star recalled Gabe having “some sort of bronchial infection” at the time of his birth, and he spent his first 10 days of life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

“I thought, I am not the person I was an hour before [he was born],” Alexander said. “A minute after they show up, your heart lives outside of your body. It changes everything.”

Luckily, Gabe recovered and began to show his character, which reminded Alexander of himself.

“What’s interesting is [my sons] individually cover both sides of my personality,” Alexander explained during his Live Talks Los Angeles appearance. “Gabe is the Jason Alexander persona — he’s an actor, he loves performing in every sense of it. He’s always loved film and theater and music and is very outgoing, very gregarious, fast sense of humor. He’s the life of the party kind of kid.”

In fact, at 11 years old, Gabe knew what he wanted to do with his life: be an actor like his dad. He even asked if he could get an agent.

“Right now, you just be a kid, be a student, and do this stuff because you love to do it,” Alexander recalled telling him on First Class Fatherhood. “If you still want to do it 5 years from now, I’m with you brother. I’ll support you all the way because you’re really good!”

Gabe stuck with it, and he went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in theater studies from Yale University, according to his website. Over the years, Gabe has starred in several comedy troupes onstage and landed roles in TV and movies.

More recently, he teamed up with his father to write and star in the 2017 comedy series Dinner with Dad, in which they played heightened versions of themselves. The show was set in a deli, “where each week father and son get together to catch up on life … [and] Alexander’s encouraging but unsolicited advice on his son’s life and show business ambitions.”

Gabe has also experienced milestones in his personal life. In May 2019, he proposed to Kristina Holliman, and they married a year and a half later in September 2020. “Best day of my year. Best day of my life,” he captioned a wedding photo on Instagram.

The couple announced they were expecting their first baby in October 2022 with a comedic picture of himself surrounded by parenting books. Around this time, Gabe and Kristina welcomed their son, with the comedian sharing an update on fatherhood in June 2023. “8 months with this little man. 10/10 baby. No notes,” he wrote beside a sweet family snap.

Alexander was thrilled to become a grandpa for the first time and even had a unique suggestion for what he wanted his grandson to call him. Unfortunately, Gabe didn’t love it as much.

“My son shot it down,” he shared on Live with Kelly and Mark in June 2023. “My wife’s name is Daena and I was gonna be J-Pa and Dae-Ma, and my son said, ‘What are you, rappers?’ So we’re grandma and grandpa, we went old school.”

Gabe also enjoys giving his dad shout-outs whenever an opportunity comes up, including on birthdays and holidays — sometimes with a quip thrown in.

In a 2019 Father’s Day post, he joked, “Here’s to the greatest dad a guy could ask for, who gave me his love of comedy but not his hair. And for that, I am grateful.”

The following fall, in September 2020, Gabe celebrated Alexander’s birthday with a heartfelt message. “Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my dear papa @jalexander1959! A legacy indeed, and a man I have always been proud to look down to,” he wrote.

During his appearance on the First Class Fatherhood podcast, Alexander opened up about how much they wanted to have children. “Both my boys are in vitro, so they were both fought for very hard,” he said.

From a young age, Noah was observant and contemplated what was happening around him.

“Noah is who I really am most of the time, which is kind of shy and a little bit of a loner and very serious-minded and a little concerned about life and the world,” Alexander shared at Live Talks Los Angeles.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame voice actor continued, “He’s a very somber interesting thinker, a philosopher, and you would get none of that unless he let you into his inner circle, which doesn’t happen all that readily.”

Noah didn’t play team sports growing up, but his dad revealed that he enjoyed individual athletic endeavors with Gabe.

“They were into a little bit of martial arts, and then they got heavy into Cirque du Soleil gymnastics,” Alexander said on First Class Fatherhood. “They had the silks and the trampoline … but you would not want me or any of my children on a basketball or a football team.”

Like his sibling, Noah followed Alexander into showbiz, but as a voice actor and narrator, according to his Instagram bio.

He worked on projects like Twisters, Daisy Jones & the Six, Young Sheldon and Hawaii Five-O, among others, per his website.

Because Alexander and his sons work in the entertainment industry, they joined the SAG-AFTRA strike together in 2023 and posted photos from the picket line.

Noah’s brother Gabe shared a picture of them holding signs with the caption, “Striking is a family affair. #sagaftra #strike #sagaftrastrong.”

While Noah tends to be more private, he has made several appearances on the red carpet with his family. Most notably, he was at the L.A. premiere of Avatar in December 2009 and at the New York City opening night party for The Cottage, which Alexander directed, in July 2023.
