Oscars 2025: Full Nominations List Revealed

The race for cinema’s most prestigious honor has officially begun with the unveiling of the 97th Academy Awards (Oscars 2025) nominations on Thursday morning. This year marks a celebration of international storytelling and genre-defying films that have pushed creative boundaries.

At the forefront of this year’s lineup is Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez, a Spanish-language, French-made narco-musical that shattered records with 13 nominations—the most ever for a non-English-language film. From Best Picture to a trailblazing Best Actress nod for Karla Sofía Gascón, Emilia Pérez has emerged as a frontrunner, spotlighting trans representation in an industry often slow to embrace change. Close behind are Brady Corbet’s postwar epic The Brutalist and Jon M. Chu’s dazzling Wicked, each garnering 10 nominations. Unlike last year, when Oppenheimer dominated as the clear favorite, this year’s Oscars race remains wide open. With five weeks until the ceremony, no single film has emerged as a definitive frontrunner, leaving Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, Wicked, Anora, and Conclave in fierce competition for the coveted Best Picture title.

This year’s nominations arrive under extraordinary circumstances, with Hollywood grappling with the aftermath of devastating Los Angeles wildfires that delayed the announcement and cast a somber tone over the awards season.
