What is the “Benefit Period”?
How long will the policy pay benefits while
you qualify to receive benefits?
The Benefit Period is the length of time the
policy is designed to pay benefits while you qualify to receive
benefits. For example:
- A policy with a "3-year Benefit Period"
could pay benefits for 3 years while you qualify to receive benefits.
- A policy with a "5-year Benefit Period"
could pay benefits for 5 years while you qualify to receive benefits.
- A "Lifetime Benefit Period" (also called an
"Unlimited Benefit Period") is designed to pay the policy's benefits
for as long as you qualify for benefits, regardless how long it may
be.
